Nourished Life

Nourished Life is a large online retailer specialising in organic makeup and health products. StudioOutside, a small web agency based in Katoomba, had been working with them from the very beginning and were handling a major redesign to go along with a complete rebrand. They brought me on as a contract developer to help deliver it since the scale of the project needed the extra hands.

My role was almost entirely front-end. The site ran on a bespoke backend system that had been built up and layered with new features over the years as the business grew. With the new brand came a full set of new designs in Figma, and I spent my time translating those into components and pages on a new branch of their existing stack. I did write some small bits of PHP here and there for visual features like blog reading time estimates, but I wasn't touching the backend itself.

It was a big codebase, much larger than anything I'd worked on up to that point, and getting across all the moving parts took some real effort. The site has since been rebuilt in Shopify, which makes sense given how much they've scaled. But the brand and a lot of the page designs are still very similar to what we delivered in that redesign, which is nice to see.
